Armed Forces, Security Agencies to Hold Route March in Abuja — DHQ

Armed Forces, Security Agencies to Hold Route March in Abuja — DHQ

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced that the Armed Forces and other security agencies will on Friday, October 10, 2025, conduct a Route March Exercise in Abuja as part of efforts to enhance physical fitness, operational readiness, and inter-agency synergy.

 

According to a statement signed by Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, Director of Defence Information, the exercise will commence at 5:00 a.m. and will take off from the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field, proceed to Mambilla Barracks, and return to the cantonment through Niger Barracks.

Gusau explained that the routine physical fitness march is designed to promote synergy, discipline, and esprit de corps among personnel of the Armed Forces and sister security agencies.

 

The DHQ, however, appealed to members of the public, especially road users within the Asokoro–AYA axis, to take note of the exercise and use alternative routes as may be directed by officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other traffic management authorities who will be on ground to ensure smooth traffic flow.

 

“The Defence Headquarters regrets any inconvenience the temporary diversion may cause and appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the general public,” the statement added.
