Nigeria Customs Service Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Shortlist
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has issued a categorical warning, advising the public and applicants to disregard a viral social media post claiming to provide a state-by-state breakdown of candidates shortlisted for the final stage of its 2025 Superintendent Cadre recruitment exercise.
The Service stated that the document did not originate from the NCS or any of its authorized communication channels and is completely false.

The Customs Service stressed its commitment to a transparent and credible selection process. The recruitment exercise officially commenced in December 2024, attracting 573,523 applications across all three cadres. Following documentary screening, 286,697 candidates were invited for the initial Computer-Based Test (CBT).
For clarity on the process, the NCS explained that while candidates from all cadres took the initial CBT, only successful applicants under the Superintendent Cadre are currently being invited to the second phase of the test.
This subsequent test will be conducted across designated centers within the six geopolitical zones, aligned with candidates’ states of origin, in line with the Service’s commitment to the principle of Federal Character and inclusiveness.
The NCS urged applicants and the general public to rely solely on verified information.
