Baze University SRC pays Courtest Visit to Chancellor, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmad

The Student Representatives Council (SRC) of Baze University recently paid a courtesy visit to the University’s Chancellor and Founder, Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, PhD.

The Chancellor warmly received the delegation alongside senior University officials. During the visit, the students conveyed their heartfelt condolences on the passing of his brother, Mallam Mouftah Baba-Ahmed.

In his response, Senator Baba-Ahmed expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Baba-Ahmed family, describing the students’ gesture as a profound demonstration of compassion and empathy, qualities that, he noted, reflect the very essence of Baze University’s values.

He further emphasised that true education transcends classroom learning, quoting the University’s motto, “Learn to Live.” He commended the students for embodying emotional intelligence, empathy, and responsible citizenship, the hallmarks of well-rounded graduates.

The visit formed part of the Chancellor’s continuous engagement with students and staff. Such interactions, including campus tours, open forums, and direct dialogue, are designed to enrich the academic and social experience at Baze University while fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, an internationally recognised education investor, is also the Founder of Baba-Ahmed University. He has been a consistent advocate for expanding access to quality education across Africa.

Baze University itself is home to one of Nigeria’s most advanced healthcare institutions, the Baze University Hospital, an ultramodern quaternary facility located in the heart of Abuja. Equipped with cutting-edge medical technology, the hospital serves both as a premier treatment centre and a training ground for future healthcare professionals.

During a recent official visit, Nigeria’s Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate, commended the hospital for its excellence, stating: “This is a facility that reflects a commitment to global standards in healthcare. It’s not only serving patients but also shaping the future of healthcare professionals in Nigeria.”
