The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total sum of N2.103 trillion among the Federal Government, States, and Local Government Councils as federation allocation for September 2025.

This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of FAAC’s October 2025 meeting, chaired by the Accountant General of the Federation, Shamsudeen B. Ogunjimi, and held in Abuja.

According to the communiqué, the N2.103 trillion was drawn from a gross total of N3.054 trillion, comprising Gross Statutory Revenue, Value Added Tax (VAT), and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

From the total distributable amount, the Federal Government received N711.314 billion, while the 36 States got N727.170 billion. The 774 Local Government Councils shared N529.954 billion, and the oil-producing states received N134.956 billion as derivation (13% of mineral revenue).

A further breakdown showed that N116.149 billion was set aside for the cost of collection, while N835.005 billion was earmarked for transfers, interventions, and refunds.

The report revealed that gross revenue from VAT for September stood at N872.630 billion, marking an increase of N150.011 billion compared to the N722.619 billion distributed in August. Out of this, N34.905 billion was allocated for collection costs and N25.132 billion for transfers and interventions, leaving N812.593 billion for distribution.

Meanwhile, gross statutory revenue for September was N2.128 trillion, which was N710.134 billion lower than the N2.838 trillion recorded in August. From this figure, N79.090 billion went for collection costs and N809.873 billion for transfers and interventions, leaving a distributable balance of N1.239 trillion.

Out of this, the Federal Government received N581.672 billion, the States got N295.032 billion, the Local Government Councils received N227.457 billion, while N134.956 billion went to oil-producing states as derivation.

In addition, a total of N53.838 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) was distributed among the three tiers of government. The Federal Government received N7.753 billion, the States got N25.842 billion, and the Local Governments received N18.089 billion, with N2.154 billion set aside for the cost of collection.

FAAC noted that while VAT, Import Duty, and EMTL recorded significant increases, Company Income Tax (CIT) and Common External Tariff (CET) Levies decreased considerably. Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) showed a marginal increase, while Oil and Gas Royalty and Excise Duty experienced slight declines.
