Anambra Guber Poll: INEC Deploys AI Virtual Assistant to Train Staff
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unveiled an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered virtual assistant designed to enhance staff training and operational readiness ahead of the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election.
Known as the INEC Training Virtual Assistant (INECTrainingBot), the digital innovation—hosted on Telegram—offers round-the-clock access to election materials, interactive lessons, and self-paced learning modules.
“In preparation for #AnambraDecides2025, INEC is leveraging technology to strengthen the capacity of its personnel and stakeholders,” the Commission announced on X (formerly Twitter). “The INECTrainingBot provides flexible, on-demand access to essential election training, ensuring our teams can learn smarter and be fully equipped for their roles.”

According to INEC, the tool is part of ongoing efforts to modernize its training framework, promote efficiency, and improve the overall management of electoral processes.
In a related development, the Commission also announced that the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for new registrants in Anambra State will run from October 22 to 26, while a mock accreditation exercise will take place on October 25 across selected polling units in the three senatorial districts of the state.
The mock accreditation will test the performance of the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and assess the real-time uploading of results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV)—a key transparency mechanism for monitoring election results.
INEC reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging technology to enhance credibility and transparency in the electoral process as the countdown to the Anambra 2025 Governorship Election continues.
