Kano Police Arrest 2 Suspected Bandits, Move to Resolve Herders-Farmers Clash in Makoda
Operatives of the Kano State Police Command have arrested two suspected members of an armed bandit syndicate during a coordinated operation in Shanono Local Government Area, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security across the state.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Friday, October 24, 2025, following credible intelligence from residents of the Farin Ruwa community. The operation was carried out jointly by the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad and officers of the Shanono Division.
The suspects, believed to be collaborators of bandits attempting to infiltrate Kano State, are currently under investigation to determine the scope of their operations and connections with other criminal elements. The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has directed intensified efforts to track down other members of the syndicate still at large.
