Troops Neutralise 10 Terrorists, Recover Weapons in Borno
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralised ten terrorists and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a night ambush along the Gamboru–Dikwa–Marte axis of Borno State.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the operation was carried out by troops of Sector 1 under the 24 Task Force Brigade.
The latest success followed the earlier neutralisation of more than 50 terrorists in a separate encounter around the Katarko axis. In the new operation, the troops reportedly foiled an attempt by insurgents to infiltrate Gamboru Ngala from the Flatari axis late on Friday night.
“At about 23:50 hours on 25 October 2025, while manning a pre-established ambush position, the troops identified and engaged the hostile elements. The unit delivered heavy and accurate suppressive fire, forcing the insurgents to retreat in disarray,” the statement read.

The terrorists, who attempted to flee towards Dikwa, were subsequently ambushed again along the Dikwa–Marte road, leading to the death of several of them.
Following first light, the troops conducted a clearance operation in the area, confirming that ten insurgents had been neutralised. A search of the vicinity also led to the recovery of a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and other items.
Recovered weapons included five AK-47 rifles, one PKT machine gun, three locally-made dane guns, and two fabricated pistols. The troops also recovered five AK-47 magazines loaded with 7.62mm rounds, boxes of cartridges, a large quantity of 7.62x54mm linked ammunition, as well as two motorcycles, two bicycles, a radio, and various personal effects such as charms, a blanket, and a raincoat.
The Military High Command commended the troops for their gallantry, vigilance, and tactical proficiency, noting that the successful ambush underscores the effectiveness of ongoing counter-insurgency operations in the North East.
It reaffirmed the commitment of Operation Hadin Kai to sustaining offensive actions aimed at protecting civilians and restoring lasting peace and stability in the region.
