The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, on Monday decorated 29 newly promoted officers of the Command with their new ranks, charging them to uphold the values of integrity, discipline, and selfless service.

The decoration ceremony, held at the Police Officers Mess, Bompai, Kano, was attended by senior officers, invited guests, and members of the press.

Among the promoted officers are ACP Gambo Chagwa Elijah, Officer in Charge of Veterinary; ACP Nasiru Yusuf, Officer in Charge of Medical; and CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s Public Relations Officer. Others include CSP Murtala Fagam (DPO Bichi), CSP Mohammed Abdulrahman Kanoma (DPO Bompai), CSP Ansar Muazu Marafa (DPO Nassarawa), CSP Musa Pindiga (DPO Mandawari), and several Divisional Police Officers across the state.

In his remarks, CP Bakori congratulated the newly promoted officers and expressed deep appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare and career development of police personnel nationwide.

He also commended the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1 Kano, for his continuous guidance and support to the Command.

“Promotion in the Nigeria Police Force is a call to higher responsibility. You must continue to demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and leadership in your new roles,” Bakori said.

“With higher ranks come greater accountability and the expectation to serve as role models for your subordinates and the society.”

According to the Command, the breakdown of the promoted officers includes: 2 officers elevated from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP),21 officers promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), and6 officers advanced from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP).

The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring peace, security, and public safety across Kano State, urging officers to continue working collaboratively with communities to sustain the state’s relative stability.

The event ended with group photographs and expressions of gratitude from the decorated officers, who pledged renewed dedication to their duties.
