Fly Smarter, Strike Harder: NAF Boss Charts New Course for Precision Warfare to Air Commanders

In a decisive move to bolster Nigeria’s air power and national security, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, DFS, has convened a high-level strategic meeting with Air Component Commanders from all operational theatres across the country.

The meeting, held at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja, focused on intensifying precision-led air operations and launching smarter, harder, and more coordinated strikes against insurgents, terrorists, and criminal elements threatening the nation’s peace and stability.

Addressing the commanders, Air Marshal Aneke emphasized the need for agility, intelligence-driven missions, and professionalism in confronting emerging security threats. “We must fly smarter and strike harder. Every mission must reflect professionalism, purpose, and patriotism,” he charged.

He underscored the importance of synchronizing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities across air, land, and maritime domains to achieve joint operational success. The Air Chief reiterated that under his leadership, the NAF would deepen collaboration with sister services and other security agencies to ensure more effective and unified mission outcomes.

Reaffirming his commitment to the welfare, training, and motivation of personnel, Air Marshal Aneke pledged to provide airmen and airwomen with the necessary tools and capabilities for operational excellence. He also restated the Force’s alignment with the federal government’s vision of sustainable peace and national security, anchored on discipline, accountability, and adherence to international best practices.

Charging the commanders to translate strategy into actionable results, the CAS declared, “The safety and confidence of our citizens are our mission success indicators. Nigeria is counting on us, and we will not fail.”

The strategic session signals a new phase in the Nigerian Air Force’s operational recalibration under Air Marshal Aneke’s command, with a focus on smarter air warfare, inter-service synergy, and results-oriented missions to secure the nation.
