We’ll Defeat Terrorism, Build a Stronger Nation — Tinubu Reassures

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s unshakable commitment to defeating terrorism, safeguarding national security, and strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic presence on the global stage.

In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, the President declared that Nigeria would continue to confront its security challenges “head-on,” pledging to decisively eliminate terrorism while upholding the rule of law and protecting citizens’ safety.

“We are indeed faced with terrorism — a challenge Nigeria has faced for almost two decades — and we will not back down,” President Tinubu stated. “We will decisively defeat terrorism and claim victory in this battle. Security is non-negotiable, and we will never compromise on this principle.”

The President assured Nigerians that the government remains steadfast in its mission to sustain ongoing reforms, consolidate progress achieved in the past two years, and build a more inclusive and prosperous nation.

He emphasized that Nigeria’s strength lies in its unity and resilience, urging citizens to reject despair and remain determined in the collective pursuit of peace and development.

“Nigeria is one united family. We rise together, move forward together, and reject despair in favour of determination. Our future is far more robust and stronger than any fears we may have,” he affirmed.

President Tinubu also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to being a reliable partner in global peace and stability, calling on international allies to continue supporting the country’s efforts against terrorism and crime.

“We urge our allies to stand firmly with us as we amplify our fight against terrorism. We have made significant progress in the past two years and we will decisively eliminate this threat,” he noted.

While acknowledging the immense task ahead, the President said his administration’s resolve remains greater, stressing that the government will “spare no effort and leave no stone unturned” in its mission to restore peace and security nationwide.

He further expressed profound appreciation to members of the Nigerian Armed Forces and intelligence community for their courage, sacrifice, and unity of purpose in defending the nation.

“To the brave men and women of our armed forces and intelligence community, united by purpose regardless of tribe or religion, who serve fearlessly and sometimes pay the ultimate price, we express our deepest gratitude,” the President said. “Your commitment is our strength in the fight against terror.”

President Tinubu concluded by reaffirming that Nigeria will continue to engage partners, champion its interests diplomatically, and assert its leadership role as a dependable voice for peace and progress in Africa and beyond.
