IGP Lays Foundation for Conference Centre at Lagos Police Command
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Adeolu Olukayode Egbetokun, has laid the foundation stone for the IGP Adeolu Olukayode Egbetokun Conference Centre at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the ongoing reforms aimed at modernizing the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and enhancing its institutional capacity.
Named in honour of the Inspector-General, the proposed edifice is designed as a world-class multipurpose facility that will serve as a hub for strategic security deliberations, inter-agency coordination, policy engagements, press briefings, and capacity-building programmes.

According to the Lagos State Police Command, the new conference centre underscores the IGP’s visionary leadership and commitment to promoting professionalism, innovation, and infrastructural advancement across police formations in Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, IGP Egbetokun commended the Lagos State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, for its outstanding administrative performance, operational efficiency, and proactive approach to policing.
He urged other state commands to emulate the Lagos Command’s dedication to discipline and development, stressing that innovation and modern infrastructure are critical to building a more responsive and technologically driven police force.
The project is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen its institutional frameworks and provide conducive environments that support effective law enforcement and public safety nationwide.
