Nigerians’ Aspirations Depend on Our Performance – Air Chief Aneke
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing operational effectiveness, professionalism, and safety across all formations of the service, saying the aspirations of Nigerians depend largely on how effectively the Force delivers on its mandate.
Speaking during his maiden strategic meeting with Branch Chiefs and Air Officers Commanding at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, November 6, 2025, Air Marshal Aneke said the engagement was aimed at reviewing operational and administrative challenges while developing pragmatic strategies to strengthen air power delivery in support of national security.
Describing the meeting as a vital platform to “refocus, realign, and reposition the Nigerian Air Force for greater impact,” the CAS stated that his administration would be anchored on professionalism, discipline, and clarity of purpose. He stressed that operations and safety would serve as the twin pillars of his command philosophy.

“This is about putting square pegs in square holes,” Aneke said. “The Nigerian Air Force needs leaders who can deliver, and I believe we have assembled the right team to take us to the next level.”
He assured that every policy decision and resource allocation under his leadership would be guided by these priorities and supported by robust logistics, advanced technology, and efficient administration. The Air Chief also pledged his commitment to fully implementing the directives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing that “the time for action is now, and we will deliver.”
The high-level meeting, which featured frank and solution-driven deliberations, focused on refining the NAF’s strategic direction and operational posture. Air Marshal Aneke encouraged open contributions under the Chatham House Rule, noting that all inputs were geared toward achieving measurable operational outcomes and mission success.
He reiterated the NAF’s continued collaboration with sister security agencies to safeguard civilian lives and prevent collateral damage, which he described as “a defining hallmark of professionalism.”
The CAS also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his confidence and leadership, pledging that the NAF would remain steadfast in realizing the President’s vision for a secure and prosperous Nigeria.
