Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim Takes Over as New Navy Holdings CEO
Navy Holdings Limited (NHL) officially transitioned its leadership on November 7, 2025, as Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim took over as the new Group Managing Director/CEO, succeeding Rear Admiral Zakariya Shaku Muhammad.
The formal handing and taking over ceremony marks a significant milestone for the NHL, the entity responsible for advancing the Nigerian Navy’s commercial interests and strategic investments.

In his farewell remarks, outgoing GMD/CEO Rear Admiral Z. S. Muhammad thanked the Board of Directors and staff, highlighting key achievements during his tenure, which included significant growth in operational efficiency, the expansion of investment portfolios, and the strengthening of corporate governance frameworks. He urged the incoming CEO to sustain the momentum and build on the progress made.
In his maiden remarks, the new GMD/CEO Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim thanked the Chief of Naval Staff for the confidence reposed in him. He commended his predecessor for his visionary leadership and assured attendees that he would consolidate on existing gains while exploring new opportunities for growth and innovation.
The event, attended by Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers of NHL subsidiaries and senior officers, reaffirmed NHL’s commitment to strategic investments and sound management practices aimed at ensuring sustainable value creation.
