NO MERCY: NAF Jets Pound ISWAP, Bandits in Borno, Kwara, Katsina Strikes
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has unleashed a wave of coordinated precision airstrikes across several northern states, delivering devastating blows to Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists and armed bandit networks in what officials described as one of the most decisive operations of the year.
The nationwide offensive, executed on 9 November 2025, targeted terrorist strongholds in Borno, Kwara, Katsina, Zamfara, and Kaduna States, as part of sustained efforts to degrade insurgent capabilities and restore stability across the country’s troubled northern corridors.
In Borno State, air interdiction missions under Operation HADIN KAI struck ISWAP enclaves in Shuwaram and Mallam Fatori, following credible intelligence and real-time surveillance.
NAF surveillance assets tracked multiple insurgent movements, including groups mobilising with motorcycles and boats along the Lake Chad Basin. Precision-guided strikes destroyed their hideouts, logistics depots, and weapons storage facilities, neutralising several high-value targets and disrupting ISWAP’s operational command structure.
Simultaneously, the Air Component under Operation FANSAN YAMMA launched surgical strikes in Garin Dandi and Chigogo in Kwara State, obliterating bandit camps based on actionable intelligence.
According to mission reports, the strikes inflicted heavy casualties and caused panic among the criminals, who had been using the forested zones as staging areas for attacks on nearby communities.

In Katsina State, NAF aircraft pounded Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area — a known hideout of a notorious terrorist kingpin. Multiple attack passes destroyed the group’s key logistics hubs and neutralised several fighters in one of the most successful aerial engagements in recent months.
Further demonstrating its operational reach, NAF’s reconnaissance and strike missions extended to Zamfara and Kaduna, where pilots conducted armed patrols over Kakihum, Dankolo, Kotonkoro, and Kuyello.
Intelligence feeds revealed suspicious movement near Wam Hill, where terrorists on motorcycles attempted to flee but were swiftly engaged and neutralised.
Post-strike assessments confirmed multiple neutralisations and the destruction of critical infrastructure used by criminal elements. Military sources described the operation as “a clear message that nowhere is safe for terrorists or bandits within Nigeria’s airspace.”
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the strikes mark a decisive phase in ongoing joint operations aimed at restoring peace and ensuring national security.
He added that the renewed tempo of operations follows the strategic directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to employ smarter, intelligence-driven airpower that delivers purposeful lethality while minimizing collateral damage.
“Each mission reaffirms the Nigerian Air Force’s resolve to project precision, professionalism, and persistence. These operations demonstrate our capability to dominate the battlespace and ensure that no terrorist or bandit network can operate with impunity,” Air Commodore Ejodame stated.
