Service Chiefs Visit Matawalle, Pledge Stronger Collaboration to Boost National Security
Nigeria’s Service Chiefs have pledged to deepen collaboration and strengthen joint operations aimed at addressing the nation’s evolving security challenges.
The pledge came during an official visit to the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Oluyede, alongside the Chief of Army Staff, Lit. Gen. Waidi Shaibu , Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral I. Abbas and Chief of Defence Intelligence, Lit. General E.A.P. Undiendeye, on Monday, November 10, 2025, in Abuja.
The high-level engagement served as a platform for the military leaders to brief the Minister on the current state of operations across various theatres and to deliberate on strategies for improving inter-service coordination, intelligence sharing, and operational synergy.

Dr. Matawalle, while welcoming the Service Chiefs, commended the Armed Forces for their professionalism and dedication to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity. He assured them of the Ministry’s continued support in providing resources, policy direction, and logistical backing necessary for effective operations.
“The Ministry will continue to work closely with the leadership of the Armed Forces to ensure that they are fully equipped and supported to discharge their constitutional responsibilities,” the Minister stated.
In their remarks, the Service Chiefs reaffirmed their commitment to working together to secure the nation and maintain peace and stability. They emphasized the importance of unity of purpose and a shared strategic vision in confronting security threats.
Air Marshal Aneke, on his part, reiterated the Nigerian Air Force’s readiness to sustain air superiority and provide decisive support to joint military efforts across the country.
The visit highlighted the growing resolve within the Defence hierarchy to foster cooperation, efficiency, and innovation in securing Nigeria against emerging and persistent security threats.
