Army Destroys Major ISWAP/Boko Haram Camps, Rescues 86 Hostages, Arrest 29 Terrorists  Logistics Suppliers in Borno

Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have rescued 86 kidnapped victims and arrested 29 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers in separate operations conducted across parts of Borno State.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Sani Uba, the troops of 135 Special Forces Battalion, under Sector 2 OPHK, made the breakthrough on November 9, 2025, after engaging Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists at Dutse Kura along the Buratai–Kamuya Road.

The statement revealed that the troops acted on intelligence indicating that insurgents were abducting civilians and vehicles along the route. They swiftly intervened, foiled the attack, and pursued the terrorists toward Mangari, where a follow-up encounter ensued near a terrorist camp. The insurgents were reportedly overpowered and fled in disarray.

A subsequent search of the area led to the discovery of 11 makeshift terrorist structures and the rescue of 86 kidnapped victims comprising men, women, and children. Troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, five magazines containing 73 rounds, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles. The terrorists’ camp was destroyed after clearance operations.

In a related development, troops deployed at Mangada intercepted and arrested 29 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers en route to Chilaria with various contraband items. Recovered exhibits included two pickup vans and a tricycle loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), about 1,000 litres of petrol in jerricans, four gallons of engine oil, two new gun truck tyres, a huge cache of medical consumables, and large quantities of foodstuffs and provisions.

Lieutenant Uba stated that the operations were successfully executed without any casualty on the part of the troops.

“The Military High Command commended the gallantry and professionalism of the troops while charging Operation HADIN KAI to sustain the momentum and deny terrorists freedom of action across the North East theatre,” the statement added.

Nigerian Army Rescues 86 Kidnap Victims, Destroys Major Boko Haram/ISWAP Camp in Borno

Two days after the inaugural visit of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General
Waidi Shaibu, Nigerian Troops have achieved a major victory against terrorists, successfully rescuing 86 kidnapped civilians and destroying a key Boko Haram/ISWAP camp in the Buratai–Kamuya axis of Borno State.

The operation, carried out on Sunday by troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, Buratai, began after surveillance cameras alerted the military to the movement of terrorists kidnapping civilians along the Buratai–Kamuya road.

The troops at Echo 1 (Dutse Kura) came under heavy attack, prompting a Quick Response Force to reinforce the position. The reinforcements successfully repelled the attack and pursued the fleeing terrorists deep into the Mangari axis.

During the pursuit, the troops overwhelmed the terrorists who were attempting to escape with two vehicles containing the kidnapped civilians. The terrorists were forced to abandon the vehicles and retreat further into the bush.

A subsequent search-and-rescue operation led to the discovery of a makeshift Boko Haram/ISWAP camp.

A total of 86 kidnapped victims—including men, women, and children—were rescued unhurt.
Items recovered from the destroyed enclave included one AK-47 rifle, five loaded magazines with 73 rounds of ammunition, four PKT ammunition belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles.

Logistics Suppliers
In a related development on the same day, troops deployed at the Delta 1 location in Mangada acted on credible intelligence and arrested 29 suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers.

Eight of the suspects were confirmed as active logistics couriers for the terrorists. Items recovered from them included:
* Two logistics pickup vans loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).
* One tricycle filled with PMS.
* 38 jerry cans of PMS and four gallons of engine oil.
* Two new gun-truck tyres.
* Medical supplies for treating gunshot wounds and large quantities of food items.

The suspects and all recovered items are set to be handed over to the 27 Task Force Brigade for further investigation. Military sources stated that the latest offensive points to an intensified tempo of operations aimed at crippling Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics networks and denying terrorists freedom of action in the North-East theatre.
