Matawalle Visits Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Charges Troops on Resilience
The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, on Friday paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA in continuation of the Federal Government’s support to ongoing military operations in the region.
The visit came shortly after the Minister observed the Juma’at prayer at the Theatre Command Mosque on 14 November 2025.
Receiving the Minister, the Theatre Commander, Major General Warrah Bello Idris, expressed gratitude for what he described as a morale-boosting engagement. He noted that the visit underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening the fight against banditry and other criminal activities threatening peace in the North West.

Dr. Matawalle commended the troops for their dedication, courage and sacrifices in confronting criminal elements across the theatre. He urged them to remain steadfast, resilient and vigilant as operations intensify to restore normalcy in affected communities.
The Minister assured the troops that the Federal Government will continue to provide the necessary resources, logistics and welfare support required to sustain operational successes. He also lauded the Theatre Command’s leadership for achievements recorded so far and emphasized the need for sustained synergy among all security agencies involved in the operation.
During the visit, the Minister received souvenirs from the Command, was briefed on ongoing operational activities, and addressed troops, expressing deep appreciation for their professionalism and unwavering service to the nation.
