NSCDC Backs Interior Ministry Reforms, Signs Performance Bond to Deepen Accountability
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to a more efficient and accountable public service as it joined other agencies under the Federal Ministry of Interior for a Capacity Building Training on the Performance Management System (PMS) in Abuja.
The training, declared open by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is part of ongoing reforms aligned with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The Minister said the initiative is designed to strengthen efficiency, accountability and measurable service delivery across the Ministry and its agencies.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo stressed that public service performance must now be driven by discipline, innovation and results that contribute meaningfully to national development. He noted that the PMS initiative is expected to foster a culture of responsibility where officers at all levels understand their roles and deliver outcomes that enhance governance.

The programme brought together senior officers from the Ministry and its agencies to deepen coordination, enhance capacity and promote a unified performance culture within the Interior sector.
In a major show of commitment to results-driven management, Deputy Commandants General (DCGs) heading various Directorates of the NSCDC signed a Performance Bond with the Commandant General (CG), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR. The bond binds them to measurable targets, accountability benchmarks and continuous improvement in both operational and administrative duties.
According to the Corps, the move demonstrates its determination to align with the Minister’s reform agenda by entrenching professionalism, transparency and a work ethic focused on tangible results that enhance national security and effective service delivery.
The NSCDC said it would continue to support all initiatives that promote improved service outcomes and reinforce the Interior Ministry’s vision for a modern, efficient and responsive public sector.
