FG Condemns Attack on Kebbi Schoolgirls, Orders Immediate Rescue Operation
The Federal Government has condemned the deadly attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS), Maga, in Zuru Emirate, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, directing security agencies to launch an immediate and coordinated rescue mission for the abducted students.
Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, in a statement on Monday, described the assault carried out by armed bandits late Sunday night as “unacceptable and tragic,” stressing that the killing of the school’s Vice Principal, Malam Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and the abduction of multiple female students represents a direct attack on national security and the sanctity of educational institutions.
According to Matawalle, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has already mandated an urgent multi-agency response to locate and safely recover the abducted girls without delay.
