Kano Police Move to Strengthen Border Security as CP Summons Commanders
The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has met with Operation Commanders to review security strategies and reinforce ongoing border operations aimed at ensuring sustained peace and stability across the state.
The strategic meeting, held on Monday at the Police Headquarters in Kano, brought together senior officers from various tactical and operational units. It focused on evaluating recent achievements, assessing existing security challenges, and adopting improved measures to enhance security delivery.
Addressing the commanders, CP Bakori commended officers for their dedication and selfless service to the Command and the people of Kano State. He emphasized that the noticeable reduction in crime within the state was a direct result of their collective efforts, professionalism, and commitment to duty.

In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, CP Bakori directed commanders to intensify community-based engagements, particularly through sensitization campaigns that encourage residents to play active roles in maintaining peace. He stressed that strong collaboration between security agencies and local communities remains vital to intelligence gathering, crime prevention, and rapid response efforts.
The Commissioner also reviewed the security arrangements at border villages, especially those located along Shanono, Tsanyawa, and Rogo local government areas. He announced reinforcement of personnel and deployment of additional operational assets to these areas to strengthen surveillance and deter potential threats.
Reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding lives and property, CP Bakori charged the commanders to remain vigilant, proactive, and unwavering in their efforts to combat crime and uphold law and order throughout the state.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of Administration, Operations, and Investigation; Assistant Commissioners heading Intelligence, Area Commands, Medical, Veterinary, and X-Squad units; as well as commanders of specialized formations such as the Rapid Response Squad, Special Intervention, Anti-Kidnapping, Anti-Daba, Dragon, and Safer Highway teams.
