NAF Expands Precision Strikes, Tightens Ground Synergy to Crush Terrorist Movements
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has announced a major escalation in air operations as the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) rolls out fiercer, smarter, and intelligence-driven missions to dismantle terrorist networks across the country.
During an operational visit to NAF Base Maiduguri on Monday, the CAS revealed that the Air Force is widening precision-strike operations and deepening synergy with ground forces to ensure terrorists are denied any freedom of movement across all theatres.
Addressing commanders and frontline personnel, Air Marshal Aneke declared that the NAF is fully committed to dominating the battlespace and restoring public confidence amid heightened national anxiety.
“We will go all out against them,” he vowed, reaffirming that airpower remains central to neutralising threats, protecting communities, and supporting ground troops engaged in counter-terror operations.
Welcoming the CAS, the Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, Air Vice Marshal Paul Obeya, assured that troops were prepared to fully implement the CAS’ directives for tighter joint operations, enhanced intelligence-sharing, and rapid-response strike capability.
This was followed by a detailed operational briefing from the Air Component Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, Air Commodore MB Ahmed, who outlined ongoing strikes, intelligence coverage, and expanded interdiction missions targeted at terrorist hideouts.

Speaking to personnel of the Air Component and the 105 Composite Group, Air Marshal Aneke praised their “resilience, courage, and professionalism,” describing them as a decisive force in the nation’s fight against terrorism.
He emphasised the need to maintain relentless offensive pressure, insisting that the NAF would continue taking the fight deep into terrorist enclaves. “The nation sees your sacrifice and stands behind you,” he said.
The CAS reiterated his welfare-driven leadership philosophy, “Welfare for Enhanced Warfare,” assuring airmen of strengthened logistical support, improved medical systems, and sustained prioritisation of operational allowances.
He stressed that the NAF under his command will rely on smarter deployment of airpower, intelligence-led targeting, and enhanced jointness with sister services. “Under my leadership, the NAF will fly smarter and strike harder,” he stated.
As part of the visit, Air Marshal Aneke also paid a courtesy call on the Executive Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum.
He commended the governor’s “Borno Model” of stabilisation and community-based security support, acknowledging the state’s continuous assistance to NAF operations through infrastructure and operational backing. Governor Zulum, in response, applauded the NAF and other security agencies for their unwavering commitment to protecting lives and restoring stability in the region.
Air Marshal Aneke ended his visit with a strong message of assurance to Nigerians:
“Your Air Force will not falter, will not hesitate, and will not retreat.
We will find the terrorists, neutralise them, rescue our citizens, and honour the sacrifice of our fallen heroes. The Nigerian Air Force remains resolute and unshakeable in defending this nation.”
