NCoS Honours Kano PRO Musbahu Lawan for Excellent Media Engagement
The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), CSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nassarawa, has received a national award for outstanding media engagement and his contributions to enhancing the public image of the Service.
The honour was conferred during a three-day workshop for Command Public Relations Officers (CPROs), themed “Positioning the NCoS for Visibility and Public Trust.” The workshop brought together PROs from across the country to strengthen strategic communication, improve public enlightenment, and boost the institution’s visibility.
In his remarks, the Controller-General of Corrections, CGC Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, MFR, mni, praised the commitment of the PROs and urged them to redouble efforts toward projecting the activities and achievements of the Service. He noted that effective communication remains vital in building public confidence and enhancing the national outlook of the NCoS.

Similarly, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo—represented by his Adviser on Correctional Service Reforms, DCC Babatunde Ogundare, Esq.—commended the CPROs for their unwavering dedication to safeguarding and promoting the image of the Service. He acknowledged their critical role in shaping public perception and strengthening trust in correctional operations.
The Minister’s Adviser also congratulated CSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nassarawa for distinguishing himself among his peers nationwide. He described the Kano PRO as a professional whose integrity, hard work, and consistency continue to inspire colleagues across the Service.
The Kano State Command, in celebrating the recognition, reaffirmed its commitment to upholding professionalism, transparency, and quality service delivery in line with national standards.
CSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nassarawa currently serves as the Command Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Kano State Command.
