Ex-CoS Hassan Slams Kwara Government’s “Reactive Approach” to Insecurity After Eruku Attack
Former Chief of Staff, Government House Ilorin, Alhaji Ladi Hassan, has strongly condemned the tragic attack on the people of Eruku, describing it as “one attack too many” and a painful reminder that the Kwara State government’s “slow, reactive approach is failing our people.”
The attack, which resulted in the killing of innocent worshippers and the abduction of citizens, has prompted Hassan to call for urgent, coordinated, and transparent action.
In his public statement, Alhaji Hassan extended sympathy to the grieving families but insisted that Kwara State is becoming increasingly unsafe and that the circumstances of the Eruku tragedy suggest it could have been prevented.

“Insecurity cannot be solved with late night appearances or political praise statements. What Kwara needs is urgent, coordinated, and transparent action—not silence, excuses, or attempts to suppress information,” Hassan asserted.
The former official commended the courage of local vigilantes who risked their lives to defend the community but stressed that citizens should not be forced to do the work of the state.
Alhaji Hassan called on the Federal Government, security agencies, and all relevant authorities to intervene immediately and treat the rescue of the abducted victims as a top priority.
