Muslim Women Group Praises Rescue of Kebbi Schoolgirls, Calls for Immediate Action in Niger State
The Criterion (Al-Furqaan), a leading faith-based non-governmental association of Muslim Women in Business and The Professions, has expressed profound gratitude and relief following the successful rescue operations that secured the freedom of the abducted schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the worshippers in Kwara State.
The association, through its International Amirah, Hajia Shekoni Omolara Shakirat, specifically commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s direct intervention and leadership in declaring a nationwide security emergency and ordering massive recruitment drives for the Police and the Armed Forces.

While celebrating the success, The Criterion urged the Federal Government to immediately replicate this successful operational model to secure the release of the remaining staff and students of the Catholic Secondary School in Niger State, as well as other kidnapping victims across the country.
The group commended the security agencies—including the Military, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian Police Force—for their coordinated intelligence and strategic engagement that led to the safe return of the survivors.
The Criterion called on the Federal Government to move beyond reactive measures and proactively beef up security architecture across all schools and vulnerable communities nationwide.
The association insisted that the emergency declaration must be translated into sustained safety, ensuring that the security architecture protects schools and places of worship so that young people can return to learning institutions without fear.
In response to the current challenges, The Criterion announced it will be holding a nationwide prayer session on December 7, 2025, and called upon all Nigerians and partners to join in unified prayers for peace and the swift resolution of these crises.
