NAF Graduates New Specialists to Strengthen Air Operations, Health Services

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deepened its investment in human capacity development with the graduation of 338 personnel from multiple specialised courses and training institutions in Kaduna on 28 November 2025, marking a major boost to air operations, administrative efficiency, medical support, and security capabilities across the Service.

At the Air Traffic Services Training Centre, NAF graduated personnel from three critical aviation programmes: the Standard Flight Dispatch Operations Course 1/2025, Air Traffic Control Assistance Course 23/2025, and Base Operations Course 20/2025. The courses are designed to strengthen command, control and coordination systems essential for safe and efficient air operations nationwide.

Speaking at the event on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, the Air Officer Commanding Air Training Command (AOC ATC), Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Yusuf Dari, described the specialised aviation courses as vital to enhancing operational readiness. He commended the graduands for their resilience during the rigorous training and urged them to uphold professionalism, vigilance, integrity and continuous learning, stressing that their competencies directly impact mission success and the protection of lives. He also lauded the instructors for maintaining high standards and consistently producing world-class aviation specialists.

In a related ceremony held the same day, the Service graduated 335 additional personnel from three major NAF training institutions in Kaduna. They include 74 Higher National Diploma holders in Nursing Sciences from the Nigerian Air Force College of Nursing Sciences (NAFCONS), 111 personnel who completed Basic Sundry Courses at the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Administrative Management (NAFIAM), and 150 graduates of the Critical Assets Protection Squad Course from the Regiment Training Centre (RTC).

Representing the CAS, AVM Ahmed Dari praised the determination of the graduands and reiterated the Service’s commitment to building a mission-ready force equipped to address contemporary security challenges. He conveyed the CAS’s message describing the newly qualified nurses as “guardians of health and hope,” the administrators as “custodians of order and efficiency,” and the protection specialists as “a critical shield securing the NAF’s operational capabilities.” He also reaffirmed the Service’s loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

Earlier, the Commandant of NAFIAM, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Yusuf, highlighted the comprehensive and demanding curriculum undertaken across the institutions—ranging from lectures and simulations to field exercises and professional assessments—designed to enhance competence in medical, administrative and tactical roles. The ceremony was attended by senior military trainers, medical leaders, and representatives of regulatory bodies including the Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the National Board for Technical Education.

The event also featured the oath-taking ceremony for NAFCONS nursing graduates and the unveiling of the maiden edition of the Aero-Nurse Magazine.

With these combined graduations, the NAF says it has taken another decisive step in strengthening professionalism, improving operational readiness, and enhancing the skilled manpower required to sustain airpower delivery across Nigeria.
