The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its precision counterterrorism operations across the North-West and North-East, delivering devastating, intelligence-driven air interdictions that dismantled terror cells and neutralized scores of insurgents.
The operations, conducted in the night under the directives of the Chief of the Air Staff, targeted strategic terrorist hideouts in both Katsina and Borno States.
Precision Strikes Hit Notorious Katsina Kingpin
In Katsina State, NAF aircraft executed two coordinated strikes on November 27, 2025, under OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) Sector 2.
The first strike targeted the fortified base of a notorious terrorist kingpin linked to serial kidnappings, violent attacks, and livestock rustling across Kankara, Faskari, and Malumfashi Local Government Areas. Guided by real-time Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), the aircraft destroyed the camp with precision munitions, with follow-on engagements hitting surviving fighters.
A second strike hit another major terrorist enclave in Danfako, Faskari LGA, destroying logistics hubs, operational infrastructure, and neutralizing several terrorists, further degrading their networks in the North-West.
Air Power Decisive in Repelling Chibok Attack
In Borno State, NAF air power proved decisive as ground troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Sector 4 OPERATION HADIN KAI (OPHK), repelled a coordinated multi-front ISWAP/Boko Haram attack on Chibok.
NAF aircraft executed four major strikes, guided by real-time intelligence from ground forces, against regrouping insurgents along their escape route. This inflicted significant losses and disrupted their withdrawal, shattering their ability to reorganize. The integrated air-ground response ensured the community was protected and prevented a resurgence of the offensive.
The NAF reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to precise, surgical engagements aimed at neutralizing threats and restoring security in collaboration with ground forces and other security agencies.
The statement was signed by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force.
