Senate Reconstitutes Key Standing Committees
The Senate Selection Committee has announced a major reconstitution of several standing committees in the 10th Senate.
The committee chairman and President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, unveiled the changes during Tuesday’s plenary session in the Red Chamber.
A notable adjustment is the appointment of Senator Yahaya Abdullahi from Kebbi State as the new Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence. Prior to the reshuffle, Senator Abdullahi chaired the Committee on National Planning.

The leadership of the National Planning Committee has also changed hands, with Senator Mustafa Musa from Yobe State now serving as its chairman.
In another development, the Senate Committee on Air Force will now be led by the Minority Whip, Senator Osita Ngwu from Enugu State, who assumes the position of acting chairman. Before this elevation, Senator Ngwu served as the deputy chairman under Senator Godiya Akwashiki, who is currently indisposed.
