FCT Police Nab Suspected Ammunition Courier Linked to Zamfara Bandits
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly attempting to procure ammunition for bandits operating in Zamfara State.
Security sources revealed that the suspect, identified as Ahmed Abubakar from Gusau, Zamfara State, and currently residing in Anguwan Dodo, Gwagwalada, was apprehended on December 7 at about 3:30 p.m. by operatives of the Mabushi Division following credible intelligence.

According to the sources, Abubakar had allegedly approached a Nigerian Army personnel, Corporal Yusuf Mohammed, seeking assistance to purchase 1,000 rounds of ammunition. He reportedly stated that the ammunition was intended for bandit groups in Zamfara in exchange for monetary compensation.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Abubakar confessed to acting on the instructions of his uncle, Ahmed Yakubu, who resides at the same address and is currently on the run. Yakubu allegedly directed him to procure the ammunition and transport it to Zamfara for use by bandits operating within their community.
Police operatives recovered ₦170,100 from the suspect, believed to be part of the funds set aside for the illegal transaction.
The FCT Police Command confirmed that the suspect is in custody and undergoing further interrogation. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to track down his fleeing accomplice.
