Kano Police Arrest Notorious Drug Dealer, Recover 5 Bags, 297 Parcels of Cannabis
The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected notorious drug dealer and recovered a large cache of illicit drugs as part of its sustained crackdown on criminal activities across the state.
The suspect, identified as Ibrahim Mohammed of Rijiyar Zaki Quarters, Kano, was arrested on December 15, 2025, by operatives of the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS) during a follow-up investigation linked to the earlier arrest of suspected armed robbers.
Police sources disclosed that the suspect was found in possession of five bags and 297 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa. The arrest, according to the Command, was achieved through intelligence-led and community-based policing in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

A discreet investigation is currently ongoing to uncover the full extent of the suspect’s activities, while efforts are being intensified to track down and arrest his accomplices, as well as recover additional exhibits connected to the illicit trade.
Commending the operatives for their professionalism and bravery, the Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, praised the team for the breakthrough and directed that investigations be concluded promptly to ensure the suspect and other collaborators are prosecuted accordingly.
