NAF, BUA Group Strengthen Partnership to Boost National Security, Development

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reiterated its commitment to deepening collaboration with the private sector as a strategy for advancing national security and sustainable development, following a courtesy visit by representatives of BUA Group to the Air Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Receiving the delegation on Tuesday, December 17, 2025, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, described the engagement as a reflection of the growing importance of public–private partnerships in achieving Nigeria’s strategic security and development objectives.

Air Marshal Aneke noted that the visit was particularly symbolic, highlighting the enduring values of discipline, leadership and excellence instilled by the NAF, which continue to shape national leadership beyond the military. He pointed to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BUA Group, Dr Ubon Udoh, a former Junior Airman and alumnus of the Air Force Military School, Jos, as a clear example of the Air Force’s long-term impact on national enterprise and leadership.

The CAS commended BUA Group for its contributions to Nigeria’s industrial growth, infrastructure expansion, energy development and job creation, stressing that economic development remains a critical pillar for sustainable peace and security.

“The Nigerian Air Force recognises that national security and national development are mutually reinforcing,” Air Marshal Aneke said, adding that his Command Philosophy is focused on building “a highly motivated, professional and mission-ready Air Force capable of delivering decisive airpower in support of national security objectives.”

He further подчерк that the Service remains open to mutually beneficial partnerships in areas such as innovation, infrastructure development, energy sustainability, logistics support and corporate social responsibility initiatives that align with NAF’s operational and personnel welfare priorities.

Speaking on behalf of the BUA Group delegation, Dr Udoh expressed appreciation for the warm reception, describing the visit as a proud homecoming. He said the discipline, integrity and excellence instilled during his formative years in the Air Force have continued to guide his leadership journey.

Dr Udoh reaffirmed BUA Group’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote national security and development, particularly those that leverage indigenous capacity and sustainable solutions.

In his closing remarks, Air Marshal Aneke assured the delegation of the Nigerian Air Force’s professionalism, transparency and accountability in safeguarding national assets and investments. He expressed optimism that the engagement would translate into practical areas of collaboration, especially in infrastructure support, capacity development and alternative energy solutions, for the overall benefit of the country.
