CNS Abbas Inspects Nigerian Navy Logistics College in Kano, Commends Training Standards

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, on Saturday, December 20, 2025, conducted an inspection tour of the Nigerian Navy Logistics College (NNLC) located in Dawakin Tofa, Kano State, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen professional training and capacity development within the Navy.

The NNLC, established in December 2022 and formally commissioned in May 2023 by former President Muhammadu Buhari, serves as the Navy’s premier professional institution for training personnel in logistics, supply chain management, and other related disciplines critical to naval operations.

On arrival at the College, the Naval Chief was received by the Commandant, Commodore Abubukar Ahmad Madawaki, who presented a comprehensive briefing on the institution’s training programmes, operational achievements, challenges, and future development plans.

Following the briefing, Vice Admiral Abbas toured key facilities within the College to assess infrastructure, training equipment, and ongoing activities. Given the relatively young age of the institution, the CNS identified areas requiring further development to enhance training effectiveness and institutional growth.

He commended the Commandant and his management team for their commitment and progress in building the College into a centre of excellence for logistics training, noting that effective logistics remains central to operational readiness and efficiency in the Nigerian Navy.

The Chief of Naval Staff was accompanied on the inspection by the Chief of Logistics, Rear Admiral S.H. Abdullahi; the Chief of Training, Rear Admiral A.M. Haruna; and the Director, Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Department, Rear Admiral M.Y. Dahiru.

The visit underscores the Nigerian Navy’s continued focus on strengthening institutional capacity, improving training standards, and ensuring that personnel are adequately equipped to meet evolving operational and logistical demands.
