NAF Boosts Training, Education as CAS Aneke Commissions Key Projects in Kaduna

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has commissioned a number of strategic infrastructure projects in Kaduna aimed at boosting training capacity, welfare and academic excellence within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

The projects, commissioned on Wednesday, cut across professional aviation training and secondary education, reinforcing Kaduna’s status as a key hub for learning and capacity development in the Air Force.

At the Air Traffic Services Training Centre (ATSTC), Kaduna, Air Marshal Aneke inaugurated a newly constructed 30-room Students Officers’ Accommodation, fully furnished to provide a conducive residential environment for trainees. The facility is expected to significantly enhance learning outcomes and professional development for officers undergoing specialized aviation training.

According to the CAS, the accommodation project reflects the NAF’s commitment to improving welfare and creating an enabling environment for effective training, which remains critical to operational efficiency and air power development.

Earlier in the day, the Air Chief also commissioned major infrastructure at the Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna, including a modern Administrative Block and a 1,000-seat Multipurpose Hall.

The Administrative Block comprises offices for the Commandant, Vice Principals (Administration and Academics), Administrative Officer, Guidance and Counselling Unit, Pay Office, Regimental Sergeant Major, Heads of Departments, academic coordinators for both junior and senior sections, staff rooms and an examinations office. The facility is designed to strengthen governance, coordination and academic administration within the school.

In addition, the newly commissioned Multipurpose Hall, with a seating capacity of 1,000, is intended to support general examinations as well as a wide range of academic and co-curricular activities, including workshops, meetings, graduations and competitions.

Air Marshal Aneke noted that the projects align with his vision of infrastructure-driven excellence, improved welfare and enhanced institutional effectiveness across the Nigerian Air Force. He stressed that quality infrastructure remains a critical enabler of effective training, discipline and educational advancement.

The commissioning of the projects further underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s sustained investment in human capital development, with Kaduna continuing to play a central role in shaping future airmen and women for national defence and security operations.
