CAS Celebrates Christmas with Frontline Troops, Reaffirms NAF’s Commitment to Welfare, Security

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on Christmas Day, December 25, 2025, celebrated the festive season with personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) deployed across various frontline operational theatres, reaffirming the Service’s commitment to troop welfare, operational readiness, and national security.

Air Marshal Aneke marked the occasion by sharing a special Christmas luncheon with frontline troops and conveying goodwill messages across all NAF operational areas. The gesture, which took place simultaneously in Kainji, Katsina, Maiduguri, Port Harcourt, Makurdi, Kaduna, and Enugu, underscored the CAS’s resolve to sustain morale and recognise the sacrifices of officers, airmen, and airwomen who remained on duty to ensure the safety of Nigerians during the festivities.

The Christmas luncheon provided an opportunity for close interaction among serving and retired senior officers, key security stakeholders, and frontline personnel. Commending the troops for their courage, discipline, and professionalism, the CAS praised their unwavering commitment to duty, describing them as the pride of the nation.

“You are the pride of the nation. While others celebrate with their families, you remain steadfast at your posts, ensuring that Nigerians can celebrate in peace and safety,” Air Marshal Aneke stated. He described Christmas at the frontline as a powerful symbol of patriotism, selfless service, and devotion to national duty.

Reaffirming the operational importance of sustained vigilance during the festive period, the CAS stressed that the Nigerian Air Force remains fully alert and resolute in its mandate to deny criminal elements any opportunity to exploit the season.

“Your vigilance during this season sends a clear message that the Nigerian Air Force remains alert, resolute, and fully committed to denying criminal elements any respite, regardless of the time or season,” he said.

Air Marshal Aneke also reiterated his Command Philosophy, emphasising that troop welfare remains central to mission success. He assured personnel of the NAF leadership’s continued commitment to improving living conditions, strengthening logistics support, enhancing medical care, and ensuring timely implementation of welfare initiatives across all operational theatres.

The engagements were warmly received by the deployed personnel, who described the CAS’s visit and goodwill message as a significant morale booster and a reassuring reminder that their sacrifices and dedication to duty are recognised and valued at the highest levels of command.

The Christmas frontline engagements further reinforced the Nigerian Air Force’s resolve to maintain operational readiness and professionalism while standing firmly with its personnel in service to the nation.
