Tinubu Departs for Europe Ahead of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday departed Lagos for Europe as part of his end-of-year break and in preparation for an official engagement in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President will subsequently travel from Europe to Abu Dhabi at the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
President Tinubu is expected to participate in the 2026 edition of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2026) Summit, scheduled to hold in early January in the emirate.

The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a weeklong annual summit that brings together global leaders from government, business, and civil society to deliberate on pathways for sustainable development and address emerging global challenges.
The 2026 summit will be held under the theme, “The Nexus of Next: All Systems Go,” and will focus on linking ambition with concrete action across innovation, finance, and human capital, while showcasing practical solutions for advancing sustainable development worldwide.
The statement added that President Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the conclusion of the summit.
The ADSW platform is regarded as one of the world’s leading forums for shaping dialogue and partnerships around sustainability, energy transition, and climate action.
