Again, Troops Eliminate 3 Terrorists in Borno Operations, Recover Arms
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised three terrorists in separate clearance and ambush operations across Borno State, as sustained military pressure continues against Boko Haram and ISWAP elements in the North-East.
The first operation took place on December 28 in the Ladantar area of Bama Local Government Area, where troops of the 151 Task Force Battalion deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Mayanti, in conjunction with volunteer forces, laid a coordinated ambush along the Ladantar axis.
Sources disclosed that the ambush team made contact with the terrorists at about 11:45 p.m., following the operation which commenced around 6:05 p.m. During the ensuing engagement, one terrorist was neutralised, while others fled in disarray. No casualty was recorded on the side of the troops. Items recovered from the scene included a fabric mat believed to belong to the terrorists.

In a related development, troops of Operation Hadin Kai on December 29 neutralised two additional Boko Haram terrorists during a clearance operation deep into the Sambisa Forest.
The operation was carried out by troops of the 26 Task Force Brigade in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), hybrid forces and local hunters. Led by the Brigade Commander, the troops advanced from their harbour area through the Tokumbere and Lagara axes en route to Sabil Huda, with the objective of linking up with troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade.
According to sources, the troops successfully cleared Tokumbere and Lagara communities before encountering a Boko Haram/ISWAP delay party along the axis. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, during which two terrorists were neutralised, while several others escaped, possibly with gunshot wounds.
Troops subsequently conducted a thorough exploitation of the general area without further contact. During the operation, one AK-47 rifle and one AK-47 magazine loaded with 15 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition were recovered.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations to deny terrorists freedom of movement and restore lasting peace across the North-East region.
