CP Jimoh Decorates 35 Newly Promoted Police Officers, Harps on Diligence, Professionalism
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, on Tuesday decorated 35 newly promoted senior officers of the Command, describing the exercise as a reward for hard work, dedication and professionalism in the Nigeria Police Force.
Those promoted include 30 officers elevated from the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), and five officers promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) to Superintendent of Police (SP).
Speaking during the decoration ceremony, CP Jimoh said the promotion exercise clearly reflects the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to professionalism, motivation and the recognition of excellence within the Force. He noted that the advancement of the officers underscores the principle that diligence, discipline and dedication to duty are acknowledged and rewarded accordingly.

The Commissioner, on behalf of officers and men of the Lagos State Command, expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, for finding the officers worthy of the new responsibilities entrusted to them. He described the promotion as a significant morale booster that would further enhance operational efficiency and effective service delivery across the Command.
CP Jimoh charged the newly promoted officers to justify their elevations by exhibiting higher levels of diligence, discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties. He emphasised that higher rank comes with increased responsibility and accountability, urging them to remain committed to the safety and security of lives and property in Lagos State.
He also congratulated the officers and their families on the well-deserved promotions and conveyed the goodwill and best wishes of the Inspector-General of Police as they assume their new ranks.
The ceremony marked another step in the ongoing efforts of the Nigeria Police Force to motivate personnel and strengthen policing outcomes through merit-based advancement.
