Nigerian Army Opens Application for Direct Short Service Commission Course 29/2026
The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for commission as officers.
According to a statement released by the Army, the DSSC programme is open to both civilians and serving military personnel who meet the required criteria. Successful applicants will be commissioned into selected professional corps of the Nigerian Army.
The corps open for application include the Nigerian Army Engineers, Nigerian Army Signals, Nigerian Army Medical Corps, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and the Nigerian Army Education Corps.

The Army clarified that the application process is free of charge and will be conducted strictly online. Interested candidates are required to submit their applications between 7 January and 4 February 2026 through the official recruitment portal.
