Troops Dislodge Criminals, Free Six Kidnap Victims in Kaduna
Troops of Sector 1, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued six kidnapped victims during a coordinated military operation in the Kajuru/Kujama axis of Kaduna State.
The rescue, which took place on January 5, 2026, was part of a series of simultaneous clearance operations conducted across several flashpoints in Chikun, Kajuru, Kachia and Kagarko Local Government Areas, including communities along the Kauru border. The operations were aimed at further restricting the activities and movement of violent criminal elements within the Joint Operations Area.
According to the military, troops of Sub-Sector 5 were already conducting clearance patrols in the Kujeni general area when they received a distress alert about the presence of armed criminals around the Kasso adjoining hills. The troops swiftly mobilised to the location and made contact with the criminals, engaging them with sustained suppressive fire.
