Kogi CP charges newly posted ASPs on professionalism, discipline
The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, has charged newly posted Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) in the state to uphold professionalism, discipline, and dedication to duty in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Kankarofi gave the charge while receiving the newly deployed officers at the Command Headquarters in Lokoja on Tuesday.
Addressing the officers, the police commissioner described them as the new hope for the reformation and advancement of the Nigeria Police Force, urging them to approach their assignments with seriousness, integrity, and a strong commitment to public service.
He emphasised the importance of upholding core policing values such as accountability, discipline, and ethical conduct, noting that these principles are critical to effective law enforcement and public confidence in the police.

The CP also highlighted the challenges associated with maintaining public safety, enforcing the law, and building trust between the police and host communities. He encouraged the officers to rise to these challenges by demonstrating professionalism, excellence, and respect for citizens in all their engagements.
The newly posted ASPs, in their response, expressed appreciation to the commissioner for the warm reception and guidance, pledging to uphold the high standards and ethical expectations of the Nigeria Police Force.
The reception, according to the command, underscores its commitment to mentoring and supporting newly posted officers to enable them to perform their duties effectively in the interest of public safety and the overall security of Kogi State.
