Troops Repel Lakurawa Attack in Sokoto, Recover Rustled Livestock
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA on Saturday evening successfully foiled a bandit attack on Karfen Chana village in Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State, recovering all livestock stolen by the assailants.
Security sources disclosed that the attack occurred at about 5:00 p.m. when armed bandits, believed to be members of the Lakurawa group, stormed the village, firing sporadically and making away with an unspecified number of domestic animals.

The troops swiftly responded and engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to abandon the stolen livestock and flee towards the Niger Republic border.
All the recovered animals were returned to their owners, while no casualties or injuries were recorded among security personnel or residents during the operation.
Troops have since intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to sustain security and forestall further attacks.
