The troops, operating in close collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), engaged the terrorists in a fierce and well-coordinated gun battle, leading to the elimination of eight insurgents. Several others were forced to flee, abandoning arms and other personal weapons, including AK-47 rifles.
According to the sources, no casualties or injuries were recorded among the troops, and no operational equipment was damaged during the engagement.
The patrol team has continued clearance and surveillance operations in neighbouring enclaves to forestall any attempt by fleeing insurgents to regroup or launch fresh attacks.
