NIPR Ranked World’s Best Public Relations Association
The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has been adjudged the world’s leading public relations association, emerging top ahead of its counterparts in the United States, United Kingdom, and other countries.
The President of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, announced the recognition on Tuesday during his address at the Nigeria Reputation Summit in Abuja.
He said the assessment was conducted by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, the umbrella body of PR associations worldwide.
According to Dr. Neliaku, the Global Alliance informed him earlier in the day that NIPR ranked first among global PR bodies after a competitive evaluation involving leading institutions such as the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), United Kingdom.
He described the recognition as a major milestone for Nigeria’s public relations profession and a validation of years of reforms, professional engagement, and global collaboration by the Institute.

“This is a proud moment for Nigeria. NIPR has been adjudged the best public relations association in the world,” Neliaku said, adding that the ranking reflects the Institute’s growing influence, knowledge base, and contribution to global PR practice.
The NIPR President also linked the recognition to Nigeria’s successful bid to host the 2026 World Public Relations Forum, noting that the hosting rights were secured after a rigorous four-stage bidding process held across Bali, Nairobi, Venice, and virtual sessions.
He said the World Public Relations Forum, scheduled to hold in Abuja in November 2026, will attract PR leaders and professionals from over 126 countries, describing it as the largest global gathering of public relations practitioners.
Dr. Neliaku emphasized that hosting the forum presents a strategic opportunity to enhance Nigeria’s global reputation, strengthen diplomatic goodwill, and project a positive national image.
He called for the support of government, the private sector, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful hosting of the event, stressing that Nigeria’s reputation on the global stage would be significantly influenced by how well the forum is organized.
