Troops Neutralise Terrorists, Rescue 13-Year-Old in Sububu Forest Offensive
Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have sustained a fierce and coordinated offensive against terrorist elements in Sububu Forest, recording significant operational gains, including the neutralisation of several fighters and the rescue of a kidnapped child.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Media Information Officer of the operation, Captain David Adewusi, said troops of Sector 2, 8 Division, while advancing into identified terrorist hideouts, engaged hostile elements in Indulumu and Ruduno villages.
According to him, the encounters resulted in the decisive neutralisation of several terrorists during intense firefights.

The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles, a magazine loaded with 28 rounds of ammunition, and a pair of woodland camouflage uniforms. Two motorcycles believed to have been used by the terrorists for movement and attacks were destroyed at the scene.
Captain Adewusi added that the operation extended deep into the forest, where soldiers uncovered and dismantled several terrorist camps and life-support structures, dealing a major blow to the group’s logistical network.
In a humanitarian breakthrough, the troops successfully rescued a 13-year-old kidnapped girl, identified as Halira Ibrahim, during the operation.
The statement reaffirmed the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to denying terrorists safe haven and restoring lasting peace and security across the North West region.
The military assured residents that the offensive would continue until all criminal enclaves in the area are dismantled.
