Condemning the attack, Tinubu described the assailants as “cowardly, heartless and beastly”, accusing them of deliberately targeting defenceless villagers in a failed campaign of terror and forced indoctrination.
He expressed particular outrage that the attackers killed residents who rejected extremism, noting that the community had refused to embrace a violent ideology and instead upheld a peaceful and moderate practice of Islam.
“It is commendable that the community members, even though Muslims, refused to be conscripted into a weird belief that promotes violence over peace and dialogue,” the President said.
Tinubu urged close collaboration among federal and state security agencies to provide immediate relief to affected residents and ensure that those responsible for the atrocity are tracked down and brought to justice.
The President also prayed for the repose of the souls of the victims and condoled with bereaved families, as well as the government and people of Kwara State.
