Tinubu Appoints Former Lawmaker Magaji Da’u Aliyu as Managing Director of SHESCTO
President has approved the appointment of Hon. Magaji Da’u Aliyu as the new Managing Director of the (SHESCTO), Abuja.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, .
According to the statement, the appointment forms part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to reposition and revitalise Nigeria’s premier high-technology research and development facility in line with national innovation and industrialisation goals.
Hon. Aliyu brings to the role a combination of legislative experience, technical expertise and advanced strategic training. He is a former member of the House of Representatives, where he represented the Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency of Jigawa State. During his tenure in the Green Chamber, he served as Chairman of the House Committee on Power, playing a key oversight role in Nigeria’s electricity and energy reforms.
PRNigeria reports that Aa engineer by profession, Aliyu is also a distinguished member of (NIPSS), Kuru, where he underwent the Senior Executive Course (SEC 47).

His technical background and policy experience are expected to provide the strategic synergy required to lead SHESCTO’s multidisciplinary scientific research mandate and strengthen its contribution to Nigeria’s technological advancement.
SHESCTO is a federal government agency charged with research and development in science and technology, including the management and operation of Nigeria’s nuclear research facilities.
In a related development, President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Engr. Adesayo Olusegun Michael as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA).
The President further constituted the Board of NEMSA. Engr. Aliyu Abdulazeez was appointed Executive Director, Technical, while other members of the board include Ikechi Clara Nwosu (Chairman, South East), Zubair Abdur’rauf Idris, Igba Elizabeth (North Central), Sani Alhaji Shehu (North East), Adeyemi Adetunji (South West), Engr. Emmanuel Eneji Nkpe (South South), and Engr. Charles Ogbonna Asogwa (South East).
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has nominated two new commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). They are Amina Gamawa, representing Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Muktar, representing Kaduna State.
According to the statement, the nominees have been forwarded to the Senate for screening and confirmation.
The appointments are part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to strengthen key institutions in the science, energy, and revenue sectors
