Troops Foil Terrorist Ambush, Recover Supplies in Borno
Troops of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, operating under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) as part of Operation Desert Sanity V, successfully foiled an ambush attempt by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists along the Bulayobe–Darel Jamel axis in Borno State.
Security sources confirmed that the incident occurred at approximately 5:35 a.m. on February 13, when JTF personnel, in coordination with Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) volunteers, were conducting night ambush operations at Papa 4, about 4.1 kilometres from the Forward Operating Base.
According to the sources, troops observed insurgents attempting to cross the Main Supply Route from the Cameroon axis into Nigerian territory. Upon detection, the troops engaged the terrorists with sustained gunfire, forcing them to retreat in disarray.

10 Kampala materials
3 praying mats
3 copies of the Qur’an and other religious books

Military sources stated that further searches of the area yielded no additional items. They emphasised that troops continue to maintain heightened vigilance and aggressive patrols to deny terrorists any freedom of movement in the region.
