CP Jimoh Tasks 80 Decorated Officers on Professionalism, Accountability
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated 80 newly promoted officers serving within the Command, charging them to uphold professionalism and embrace greater responsibility in their new ranks.
The officers were elevated from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II) and formally decorated at a ceremony held in Lagos on Tuesday.
Addressing the officers, CP Jimoh described the promotions as well-deserved recognition of their dedication, hard work, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties. He emphasised the importance of discipline, strict adherence to the rule of law, respect for human rights, and the adoption of community-oriented policing strategies.

The Police Commissioner urged the newly promoted officers to view their elevation not merely as a reward but as a call to higher responsibility and renewed commitment to service. According to him, “the reward for hard work is more work,” stressing that the new ranks demand increased accountability and exemplary conduct.
CP Jimoh also expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission for their continued commitment to boosting officers’ morale through timely promotions.
He noted that regular promotions serve as motivation for personnel and contribute significantly to improved service delivery and operational efficiency within the Force.
The event was confirmed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.
