Security sources disclosed that the attack occurred at about 12:45 a.m. on February 17, when suspected armed bandits stormed the community. Troops, working in close coordination with personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and local Civil Watch Patrol Teams, responded swiftly to distress calls and engaged the attackers in a fierce exchange of gunfire.
The coordinated response forced the bandits to retreat. Two of the attackers were neutralised in the process, while a Boxer-brand motorcycle believed to belong to the criminal group was recovered at the scene.
However, the incident claimed the life of a 30-year-old resident, Hassana Muhammad, who was struck by gunfire during the attack. She was rushed to Dansoda Hospital but was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
Security sources said clearance operations are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and ensure the safety of the community.
