The newly deployed patrol teams will complement existing security arrangements already in place. Since December 2025, several patrol vehicles have been stationed at strategic points along the highway to strengthen law enforcement presence and improve response time to distress calls.
According to police authorities, the enhanced security architecture is part of a broader strategy to sustain public confidence and protect vital infrastructure across the state. The 24/7 operation is expected to create a safer environment for motorists and investors, particularly as traffic volume increases along the coastal road.
Residents and road users have been urged to cooperate with security personnel and promptly report suspicious movements or activities. The Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Road remains secure, peaceful, and free from criminal threats.
The deployment signals a decisive step by the command toward reinforcing public safety and consolidating ongoing efforts to combat crime across major transportation corridors.
