Force Commander MNJTF Commissions FOB Duji, Urges Troops to Intensify Border Operations
The Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General ST Audu, has urged troops deployed at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Duji to intensify operations against terrorists along the Nigeria-Niger border and ensure the base is firmly held.
General Audu made the call on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, during the official commissioning and operationalization ceremony of FOB Duji in Mobbar Local Government Area. He described the operationalization of the FOB as a strategic milestone crucial for denying terrorists freedom of movement in the border region and facilitating the reopening of the Damasak-Maiduguri road.
While highlighting several successes recorded by the MNJTF in the area, the Force Commander urged soldiers to remain resolute, resilient, fearless, and dedicated in the discharge of their duties. He also encouraged robust patrols to dismantle enemy positions in the hinterlands.

Stressing the importance of cooperation, General Audu emphasized the need for a strong working relationship between forest guards, Nigerian troops, and their Nigerien counterparts, describing it as a critical force multiplier. He further assured the troops of enhanced welfare and logistical support to sustain operational readiness.

The commissioning event drew high-ranking officials, including the Chairman of Mobbar Local Government Area, Hon. M. Gas; Commander, Operation NALEWA DOLE, Diffa region, General De Brigade Ali Hamidou Issa; Brigadier General SS Ahmed; and other senior MNJTF officers.
